Day One report: Wet wicket poses problems for Staffordshire

The first day of Staffordshire's NCCA Division One East game against Norfolk was called off after water got on to the wicket.

The first day of Staffordshire’s NCCA Championship game against Norfolk was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Heavy rain in East Anglia resulted in water getting under the covers at Manor Park.

Staffs were left frustrated after hoping that a decision on any prospects of play could be left until early afternoon.

However, the decision was taken out of their hands and the day’s play was called off at 10.30am.
