Staffordshire County Cricket Club all-rounder Tom Moulton

Tom Moulton says he is determined to repay the faith shown in him as he takes the first steps in his Staffordshire career.

The Checkley all-rounder made his county debut in the Knockout Trophy defeat at Wiltshire last month – and went on to play in the final two group matches.

It might have been a miserable 50-over campaign for the team in general, but Moulton made a favourable impression and was included in the Staffs team which kicked off their Championship campaign with victory at Bedfordshire in Division One East this week.

“Making the step up is great and I’m loving the challenge,” said the 18-year-old.

“I feel as though I’ve fitted in quite well with the lads and I’ve been like a sponge in the side, learning all of the time.”
