Staffordshire Under-21s made it two wins out of two with victory over Worcestershire Academy.
Staffs’ youngsters had opened their summer programme by defeating Herefordshire at Brockhampton.
And they built on that success by securing an 86-run triumph over Worcestershire at Milford Hall on Wednesday.
Tom Moulton and Jack Redman were the architects of Staffordshire’s midweek win.
The duo put on 211 for the first wicket as Staffordshire piled up 287-3 from their 50 overs in the first half of the contest.
Moulton was in sparkling form as he compiled a superb 145 and featured 18 fours and one six and came off 142 balls.
Redman was dismissed for 90, having hit five boundaries.
Jack Warner claimed two of the wickets to fall for Worcestershire.
The visitors faced a tough challenge in their chase, but Joel Cox’s 53, which included five fours and two sixes, and Luke Powell’s 44 gave them hope.
However, there wasn’t another sizeable contribution and Worcestershire were eventually bowled out for 201.
Jacob Degg and Jack Batchelor took the bowling plaudits for Staffs, finishing with 4-28 and 4-41 respectively.
