Staffordshire duo Nils Priestley and Rory Haydon are heading to Spain later this month.
The county pair have been selected in the NCCA Challengers squad for the European Cricket Championship.
The side, made up of players from across the National Counties Cricket Association, will contest finals week from October 15 to 19.
Qualifying is currently taking place for the event. But the Challengers have been handed a path straight through to finals week as defending champions.
The NCCA Challengers are taking a 13-player party for the competition, which features 10-over per side matches.
Staffordshire’s displays are head coach Andy Carr’s cup of tea
Berkshire’s Tom Lambert is head coach, with his county colleague Dan Lincoln captaining the team.
Priestley is one of the most destructive short-form players on the NCCA circuit.
He smashed 147 not out on Twenty20 Cup finals day in 2023 to beat Berkshire at Tring Park as Staffordshire went on to win the trophy for the first time in their history.
Seamer Haydon has established himself as one of Staffordshire’s leading bowlers. And his performances saw him trial with Derbyshire towards the end of the 2024 season.
