Staffordshire Development XI had to be content with a win and a defeat in their two Twenty20 games against their Wales counterparts in the North of England Cup.
Staffs were beaten in the opening encounter at Milford Hall on Wednesday as Wales produced a magnificent late-order batting effort, but the home side bounced back to win the second match to earn some reward from the day.
Staffordshire, skippered by Jack Redman, batted first in the morning clash and were given a solid start as Peter Wilshaw and Tom Moulton put on 67 for the first wicket.
