Staffordshire chairman Phil Oliver has thanked the North Staffs and South Cheshire League ahead of the county’s debut appearance at T20 finals day.
Staffs head to Tring Park on Sunday, which is the scheduled date for the third round of the league’s Talbot Cup competition.
The league’s executive committee has decided to move their cup games because of Staffs’ involvement in the NCCA T20 showpiece.
The Talbot Cup ties will now take place on Sunday, June 25.
Oliver said: “We are grateful to the NSSCL for postponing the scheduled Talbot Cup ties on Sunday.
“This is Staffordshire’s first appearance at T20 finals day. Their decision enables us to field the strongest possible side.
“We appreciate the decision will not have been well received in all quarters. But our sole intention is to keep promoting Staffordshire cricket on a wider scale.
‘Flexibility’
“The league has previously shown flexibility over their programme by postponing fixtures for Eid celebrations.
“Their decision allows our players to focus on bringing more silverware back to the county.
“The success and strength of Staffordshire cricket can only be achieved by a united effort. We thank the league for their understanding over this particular matter.”
Staffordshire face Berkshire in the first semi-final, which starts at 10am. Hertfordshire and Cornwall contest the second semi.
