Staffordshire 2nd XI claim victory over North Wales

Staffordshire wicketkeeper Callum Hawkins celebrates a wicket.

Staffordshire 2nd XI secured a five-wicket win in their 50-over encounter against North Wales.

The visitors batted first in the contest at Tamworth – but only had two batsmen reach double figures.

Elliot Colclough hit 71, featuring six fours, with Isaac Allen adding 55. His innings contained eight boundaries.

And a lack of other noteworthy contributions ensured that North Wales were bowled out for 171.

New-ball duo Sam Atkinson and Joe Thorne picked up a couple of wickets apiece, before spinner Callum Leese (4-24) mopped up the tail.
