Staffordshire have named a 13-man squad for their pre-season encounter against Herefordshire this weekend.
Sunday’s 50-over match takes place at Smethwick (11am) as preparations are fine-tuned for the start of the National Counties Cricket Association campaign.
All 13 players will feature at some point in the match.
The contest is the first chance for Staffordshire supporters to see new signings Ollie Walker and Sam Keeling-Wright in action.
All-rounder Walker and seamer Keeling-Wright both joined Staffs from Sunday’s opponents over the winter.
‘Playing return’
There are also a couple of familiar faces returning to the Staffordshire fold.
Tom Steele and Sam Kelsall are both included after periods away from the county set-up.
Opening batsman Steele, aged 30, hasn’t played for Staffordshire since 2017, while Kelsall returns after representing Bedfordshire for the past couple of seasons.
Tamworth spinner Tom Smith is also named in the party as he looks to push his claims for a place in the NCCA Knockout Trophy side.
Staffordshire kick off their Trophy season on Sunday, April 26 against Norfolk at West Bromwich Dartmouth.
Entry to Sunday’s match against Herefordshire is free and refreshments will be available.
