Staffordshire have named a 12-man squad for their National Counties Cricket Association Twenty20 Cup opener against Northumberland.
And Staffs kick off their Group One campaign on Sunday with a double header in the T20 format at Porthill Park under a new captain.
Burslem’s Zen Malik has been appointed as Staffordshire’s skipper – and leads a squad which will be looking to revive their fortunes in the competition.
The format hasn’t been played at NCCA level since 2019 because of the coronavirus pandemic, but Staffs have traditionally been poor in T20 encounters.
