Deja-vu for Staffs after NCCA Twenty20 Cup finals day draw is made

Staffordshire County Cricket Club won the NCCA Twenty20 Cup last season.

Staffordshire have been drawn against Berkshire in the last four on NCCA Twenty20 Cup finals day.

The match-up is a re-run of last summer’s meeting between the two sides at Tring Park on the showpiece occasion.

This time the pair will battle it out at Chester Boughton Hall on Sunday in the second semi-final, starting at 1pm.

Cumbria and Oxfordshire play each other to kick off the day’s event in Cheshire. Their game begins at 10am.

The two winners meet in the final, which is scheduled to start at 4.30pm.

Defending champions Staffordshire booked their place at a second successive finals day by comfortably beating Hertfordshire and Norfolk in Sunday’s Super 12s stage at Norwich’s Manor Park on Sunday.

And today’s draw has set up the mouth-watering clash with Berkshire this weekend.

Staffordshire’s last meeting with their rivals lives long in the memory.

Nils Priestley scored a superb  147 not out to become the first Staffs player to score a T20 hundred in the 2023 semi-final victory.

That paved the way for Staffordshire to advance to the final, where they beat Cornwall by four runs.
