We would like to confirm that our NCCA Showcase Game against Leicestershire will not take place this season.
Some media outlets have reported that we are due to travel to the UptonSteel Ground to play Leicestershire on Sunday, July 19.
However, after agreement between both counties, the match will no longer take place.
The date falls between two NCCA Championship matches, and from our perspective, there are concerns over player availability and potential injuries.
This means we do not feel we can field a side which would give a true indication of Staffordshire cricket’s strength.
We thank Leicestershire for their understanding in this matter and look forward to continuing the working relationship in the future.
Leicestershire have, kindly, offered Staffordshire members the opportunity to watch their Metro Bank 50-over game against Lancashire on Sunday, July 26 at the UptonSteel Ground at a discounted price on production of a code.
