Staffordshire are delighted to announce the formation of a new-look cricket committee.
Richard Harvey, Howard Dytham, Dave Middleton, Chris Milward and Pete Wilshaw have been appointed to sit on the committee.
They will work with head coach Andy Carr and captain James Kettleborough and oversee all cricket matters relating to the county club.
The new structure has been implemented following the departure of head of cricket Dave Cartledge.
Cartledge stepped down from his role in the summer – and the county club have now finalised a new direction in cricket matters.
Staffordshire County Cricket Club’s head of operations Martin Williams said: “Following a review of the club’s on-field first XI and Development performances and supporting structure, the club has decided that the position of ‘head of cricket’ will remain vacant, while the composition of the cricket committee will be restructured.
Nils Priestley and Rory Haydon have Euro Vision
“The purpose of the committee is to provide the stability needed for the head coach and first XI captain to succeed in making Staffordshire a National County that competes year in year out for silverware in all competitions.
“For this to happen the committee will have oversight and offer support to the head coach and first XI captain in all cricket matters.
‘Lead role’
“The new cricket committee will be chaired by former captain Richard Harvey.
“Howard Dytham, Dave Middleton and Pete Wilshaw will assist with talent identification and communication throughout the county’s clubs.
“Staffordshire Cricket’s pathway and performance manager Chris Milward, will help to ensure players have access to a seamless pathway from age-group cricket into the senior development programme and National Counties cricket.
A big Staffordshire thank you!
“The cricket committee is currently finalising a communication strategy. That will ensure that all clubs are aware of and engaged with the county club’s aims and objectives.”
