Staffordshire have named a 13-man squad for this weekend’s Showcase Game against Leicestershire.
Staffs will take on the Foxes at Knypersley’s Tunstall Road ground on Sunday in a 50-over per side encounter (11am).
The match is part of the NCCA schedule which sees all counties play a first-class side.
Staffordshire are set to hand a debut to young Wolverhampton seamer Charles Jackson at the weekend.
The 21-year-old right-armer has picked up 18 wickets for his club in the Birmingham & District League Premier Division so far this season.
The fixture provides the ideal chance for head coach Andy Carr and skipper James Kettleborough to cast their eye over players.
Last year Nils Priestley made his Staffs bow against the same opponents, and has gone on to be a key fixture in the county side.
‘Jack is back’
There is also a welcome return for Audley all-rounder Jack Redman for this weekend’s match.
Redman has just returned from injury which has forced him on to the sidelines for the majority of Staffordshire’s NCCA programme.
However, he has now recovered. He marked his return to county duty with 90 in the under-21s’ victory over Worcestershire Academy last week.
Batsman and leg-spinner Zen Malik is also back in the squad. He missed this week’s Championship defeat by Buckinghamshire at West Bromwich Dartmouth.
Paceman Rory Haydon returns after being forced to sit out the Bucks match.
Left-arm spinner Tom Brett is unavailable for the game.
Staffordshire turned in a battling performance in last season’s fixture. However, they eventually to Leicestershire in a rain-affected encounter.
The fixture is also a chance for the players to put their names in the frame for Staffs next NCCA Division One East game at Norfolk on Sunday, August 6.
